We condemn the Massacre in Brussels!

We condemn vehemently the brutal and inhuman terror attacks that hit the capital city of Belgium, Brussels today.

We would like to make sure that we firmly stand in solidarity with the Belgian people and all peoples of Europe in these dark days. Our hearts are with those who lost their lives and their beloveds in these heinous attacks.

Urgent Call for Solidarity and Action

In the course of armed conflict that restarted in the Kurdish region of Turkey after general elections in June 2015, 186 civilians most of which are women or children have died so far, hundreds of them were injured and thousands of people were arrested. Concerning co-mayors who are members of our union, 17 of them are now arrested while 25 of them were suspended from their duty and 6 of them were issued arrest warrants since July 2015. In order to end human rights violations in our region, there is an urgent need for revitalizing peace talks for resolution of Kurdish question in Turkey. Continue reading

Statement by Kaspar Karampetian (EAFJD President) on the Terrorist Attack in Suruc

This terrorist act is all the more monstrous, considering, that the youth was gathered in Suruc to go and volunteer in Kobanê, to assist the reconstruction of the city after the destruction by Daesh (ISIS, ISIL). Our thoughts go to the families of those 31 people killed and the hundreds injured.

Sooner or later, Erdogan’s policy of supporting the terrorists in Syria would turn against him; unfortunately this has been the case now, with the loss of innocent young lives. Continue reading

Left Party of Germany: Horror and Grief – Solidarity!

They wanted to show solidarity – these young volunteers from socialist youth associations and leftist groups wanted to help the city of Kobani and its residents, who have suffered under the brutal consequences of IS terror. They wanted to show humanity in the midst of a barbaric war.

The brutal attack on the leftist cultural center is a despicable and horrendous crime. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.

Solidarity with Greek People, Greek Government and Syriza

We stand together with the Greek People and their government in their struggle for justice, equality, and democracy against austerity. Their struggle shows us that another Europe is possible.

Having imposed austerity measures on Greece in 2010 and 2012, the EC-ECB-IMF still continue those policies that lead to a dead–end. Without considering the democratic will of the Greek people they maintain a relentlessly negative attitude towards the proposals of the Greek Government.

Solidarity Message From SYRIZA to HDP

syriza5The consecutive fascist murderous attacks during pre-electoral rallies of HDP and Demirtas’s speeches in Turkey in the last days, which resulted in the death of at least 6 people and the injury of hundreds, and the amphoteric stance of the Turkish police do not even resemble an environment of democratic normality.

The ceremonial condemnation on behalf of the ruling party of AKP is not enough to wash off the anti-democratic crime that is being committed. These practices are extremely dangerous and in the past they have lead Turkey to painful aberrations. Continue reading
