The Turkish government should immediately change its wrong policies in Syria

The Turkish government is insisting on the mistakes it has been committing in Syria over the past five years. The military operation against Jarablus, which was initiated by the Turkish Armed Forces with the pretext of fighting the ISIS, involves qualities that can deepen the war in both Syria and Turkey. Of course, Turkey should wage a more active struggle against the ISIS. Yet, Turkey’s target in the recently initiated operation is not the ISIS, but the Democratic Syrian Forces (DSG), who have been fighting the most effective struggle against the ISIS. We offer our sincere condolences to Federation of Socialist Youth Associations and the families of comrades who were killed in the terrorist attack in Suruc.

By gathering and organizing help for the brave people of Kobani, young activists have shown solidarity that should serve as an example to all of us fighting for freedom, democracy and equality. The act of solidarity that these young people have payed with their lives, deserves an enormous respect.

Dear comrades, we hope that this terrible tragedy will not obstruct your brave struggle for a better and more righteous society, but rather strengthen it.

Message of Solidarity from Worker-communist Party of Kurdistan

The Worker-communist Party of Kurdistan strongly condemns the bombing attack by ISIS that caused the death of 31 young people and more than 100 seriously injured on the 20th of July in the border city of Suruc in Turkey close to Kobani.

The victims were members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations, which is known as youth organization of ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed). They were planning to cross into Kobani to rebuild schools, hospitals, museums, libraries…etc. Their gathering aimed at showing the world that there is another front that faces ISIS and its devastative strategy by reconstructing the ruins and thus by supporting the people of Kobani.

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the victims and we share deeply in their grief.

Whilst these young people, regardless of ethnicity or nationality, wanted to show their solidarity to Kobani, the Turkish government has overtly supported ISIS logistically and even more opened its borders to their black Islamic forces to cross to Syria and fight against people there. The timid condemnation of the Interior Ministry of Turkey does not change this fact.

This is the outcome of the imperialistic war over power of which political Islam and ISIS are a part.

Once again we show our solidarity to the families and friends of the victims, the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations and Kobani.

Suruc and Kobani are not alone. There is an international solidarity consisted of socialists, communists, workers organizations, humanitarian and human right activists that supports them. Confronting ISIS and its supporters is one of the ways to help to people in Kobani and Suruc.

Statement by the International Union of Socialist Youth on the Massacre in Suruc

20 July, 2015

A suicide attack has killed until now around 30 people and wounded nearly 100 others in Suruç, near the Syrian border in the Kurdish parts of Turkey, where hundreds of young people gathered to help Kurdish people in Kobanê to rebuild their casual life.

We, as Young European Socialists and International Union of Socialist Youth, condemn this horrible terror attack. The terror attack is one of many terror attacks being conducted in the region the last months. Furthermore, we are condemning the actions of the ruling party in Turkey- Justice and Development Party (AKP)- for their lack of actions against ISIS terrorists. AKP has repeatedly refused to even recognize ISIS as a terrorist organisation and have not been able to give a notable explanation regarding the guns transported to Syria through the Turkish controlled borders. AKPs actions will not be forgotten. Young people’s desire for peace, democracy and freedom must and can‘t be silented by national, religious or financial interests. AKPs desire for an intervention by the Turkish government in Syria through co-operation with ISIS will not be accepted. Equality, solidarity and democracy will prevail!

Young European Socialists and the International Union of Socialist Youth stands with all the resisting people in the Middle East and all of those who are fighting against the violent radicalisation in the region. Peace in Middle East can only be reached with diversity, secularism, solidarity and respect. The answers are spelled- equality, freedom and justice for all!

Peace cannot and will not come by violence against young innocent people, whose brave ideas aims to reach a region for all!

Solidarity with Suruç and Kobanê!

Condolence Message from ‘Mouvement Anfass Démocratique’ on Suruç Massacre

Condolence Message from ‘Mouvement Anfass Démocratique’ on Suruç Massacre:
Dear comrades of the HDP / Turkey

We express our deep sorrow following the terrorist attack occurred at Suruc Turkey to the Young Socialists and that made thirty dead and a hundred wounded.

The AKP government is morally responsible, through its links with branches of radical Islam in Syria, including facilitating access to jihadists from other countries to Syria.

Le Mouvement ANFASS Démocratique / Morocco expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and stands on the side of the Turkish Left, especially our comrades of the HDP, which fights against darkness on behalf of humanity.

Mounir Bensalah,

National coordinator
Mouvement Anfass Démocratique

The Galizan Movement for Socialism expresses its strongest condemnation against the attack of the Islamic State or Daesh in Suruç, on the border between the Turkish and Syrian states and very close to Kobanî, which caused the death of 28 young people and close to 100 wounded, members of  the Federation of Socialist Youth. We denounce the responsibility of the Turkish government led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Party of Justice and Development – Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi, AKP-. We express our support and solidarity with all the peoples who had to suffer a great suffering because of this extremist organization, its allies and other similar organizations that have specially advanced in Iraq, in Syria and in Kurdistan, and also in other threatened countries.

We also show our solidarity with the international struggle developed in Kobani and all the people who resist Daesh and imperialism. In particular, we send a fraternal greeting to the Democracy Party of Peoples / Partiya Demokratik  a  Gelan,  HDP-. We  consider  essential  the  development  of  responses  in  every  country  against capitalist barbarism and their immediate and following projects.

Nowadays, Turkey intends to act as a power in the relevant new imperialist strategy: a deep restructuring of the region that is ongoing, organized from violence and imposition. The Turkish oligarchy is already combining their own interests with the general subordination to the interests of the United States and NATO, as evidenced by, among other factors, by its role in the neo-colonial aggression developed in Syria. This design comes in direct contradiction with the rights and aspirations of the peoples, and is incompatible with a future of peace, equality and justice: it only brings more violence, oppression and misery for the masses.

In particular, we are aware of the great difficulties facing the political action and social mobilization in the Turkish state, which continues without recognizing not only the most basic national rights, social and democratic, but the mere existence of the Kurdish people. Precisely Erdogan sought to approve a constitutional reform that reinforced over his power and of his party, the AKP, which holds a reactionary government, fully committed to capitalism, neoliberalism and imperialism.

In this regard, we wish to Kurdistan the same future of emancipation that we desire for our people and for all the world: the power in the hands of the people by means of an independent and socialist Estate, the defeat of patriarchy, able to develop its economy fairly and sustainably, to build their own culture freely and creatively and interact on an equal relationship with the other nations of the planet. All the revolutionary organizations of the world have a historical responsibility in the fight against imperialism and its catastrophic consequences in all areas.

We also hope that the advances of the Kurdish people contribute to the construction of a different alternative in the Turkish state, led by the popular forces, away from any involvement in the structures imperialists and engaged in real initiatives of peace and progress throughout the region, particularly in Cyprus, Syria Iraq and Iran, not to mention the historical and fair demands of the heroic Palestinian people.

We wish that the forthcoming days are favorable to the rapprochement between our respective peoples and we wish to have more opportunities to exchange information and analysis, as well as to express again our solidarity with your struggle.

Biji Kurdistan!
